Construction Craft Worker (CCW) Level II
The program runs 8 weeks (Monday to Friday) 8:30am – 3:30pm each day. You must be able to support yourself for the duration of the program. No transportation is provided for apprenticeship training
General
Now equipped with skills from CCW Level 1, as well as practical work experience, apprentices in
the Construction Craft Worker Level 2 training program will revisit many of the topics covered in
Level 1 in greater detail, as well as explore new concepts and receive equipment training to help
reinforce their knowledge and expand their skill set. CCW Level 2 will incorporate an additional
week for a comprehensive review, preparing apprentices to successfully challenge and pass the
Red Seal exam and receive their Certificate of Qualification.
Program Contents
- Construction safety
- Equipment handling practices and procedures
- Hoisting, rigging and material handling
- Equipment training (e.g. telehandler, mini excavator, skid steer, demolition robot)
- Formwork
- Concrete
- Scaffolding
- Earthwork, barriers and controls
Red Seal Exam
Upon successful completion of CCW Level 2, you write the Red Seal exam, which consists of 100
multiple choice questions, and has a passing grade of 70%. The exam for CCW has the following
breakdown:
- Common Occupation Skills: 23%
- Site Work: 19%
- Scaffolding and Access Equipment: 9%
- Concrete Work: 18%
- Masonry Work: 10%
- Utilities and Pipeline: 11%
- Roadwork: 10%
