The program runs 8 weeks (Monday to Friday) 8:30am – 3:30pm each day. You must be able to support yourself for the duration of the program. No transportation is provided for apprenticeship training

Details
Concrete Finishers place and finish concrete in a variety of colours, textures and finishes. They work on a variety of structures, including industrial and institutional buildings (e.g. hospitals, manufacturing, warehouses, shopping malls), bridges, roads, tunnels and dams, and perform work on surfaces ranging from floors, walls and stairs, to driveways, sidewalks and curbs. Concrete finishers specialise in producing different surfaces in concrete, from traditional trowel finishes, to patterned, imprinted or polished surfaces. Individuals who are suited to this trade are physically fit, comfortable working outdoors, possess good hand-eye coordination, an
aptitude for proportioning materials, and a strong attention to detail.
The Concrete Finisher Apprenticeship consists of 4,980 hours in total, 480 hours of which are held at the Training Centre (240 hours in Level 1 and 240 hours in Level 2). Our training program follows the standards set out by Skilled Trades Ontario, and is designed to provide apprentices with a wide range of skills, including:
- Construction Health & Safety training
- Trade calculations and quantities
- Pictorial drawings and layout tools
- Safe hand tools, power tools and powered equipment operation
- Site preparation for concrete placement
- Introduction to concrete technology, including placement, jointing, finishing and curing
You must have a minimum of Grade 10 high school education or its equivalent in order to be eligible to register for the Cement (Concrete) Finisher apprenticeship program.
