The Concrete Finisher Level 2 training program will see apprentices build upon the
fundamentals covered in Level 1, delving into advanced operations and work procedures related
to the concrete finisher trade. Level 2 places a greater emphasis on practical training, allowing
apprentices the opportunity to practice their skills, receive constructive feedback, and reinforce
the concepts learned in the classroom. An additional week at the end of the program will
incorporate a comprehensive review, preparing apprentices to successfully challenge and pass
the Red Seal exam and receive their Certificate of Qualification.

Program Contents

• Concrete placement and levelling
• Concrete finishing
• Curing and protection
• Concrete cutting, repair and resurfacing
• Specialty concrete, architectural finishes and epoxy systems

Red Seal Exam

Upon successful completion of Level 2, you write the Red Seal exam, which consists of 100 – 150
multiple choice questions, and has a passing grade of 70%. The exam for Concrete Finisher Level
2 has the following breakdown:

• Common Occupation Skills: 14%
• Site Preparation: 9%
• Concrete Placement and Levelling: 18%
• Concrete Finishing: 25%
• Concrete Curing and Protection: 15%
• Concrete Modifications, repairs and grouting: 19%
