Details

Exhibit and Display workers are efficient and resourceful, able to quickly transform buildings
such as convention centres, arenas, hotels and other large venues, into exciting and
eye-catching shows where companies can showcase and demonstrate their latest products and
services, or fans of arts and culture can gather to share in a common interest. They are
responsible for handling and transporting materials, setting up and dismantling complex
exhibits, rigging and hanging signage, and installing and removing carpets, pipes and drapes.
Individuals who are suited to this trade are organized and detail-oriented, as although the work
periods throughout the year may be short, there are often tight deadlines to meet.

Our Exhibit and Display training program blends in-class instruction and practical hands-on
training, with a major emphasis on health and safety. Participants in our training program will
study the work processes involved in the Exhibit and Display trade, from the initial planning
stages through to the completion and wrapping up of a project, along with practical training,
using equipment and tools to practice setting up and dismantling a variety of exhibits. The
topics covered in this training program include:

  • Introduction to the Exhibit and Display industry
  • Collective agreement
  • Venues and access
  • Occupation health and safety legislation
  • Trade math and calculations
  • Working at Heights and WHMIS
  • Electric pallet trucks, forklifts and propane cylinder exchange
  • Elevating work platforms
  • Tools and equipment
  • Carpets, tables, pipe and drape
  • Pop-up booths, system booths and custom booths
